Shelter Boxes for Haiti -Our Local Rotary has purchased 2 shelter boxes to aid 20 Haitians.
Each ShelterBox holds a 10-person tent and additional equipment to enable a family of up to 10 to survive for at least six months.
ShelterBoxes have been used to provide worldwide relief in disasters in more than 50 countries over the past five years.
Thousands have been shipped to Haiti as Rotary Clubs across the country raise money to send more.
In addition to the tent, each box has thermal blankets, cooking supplies, a tool kit, water containers and purification kits, a mosquito net, a children’s activities kit and more. Each box costs $1,000.
For more information on the program, visit www.shelterboxusa.org. Total boxes that have been raised so far are 57,852
