City Council Approves Grant Application to Purchase Building, Volunteer Fire Depratment Awards

There was a special City Council meeting last night. City Council was being asked to support an application by the Goshen County Economic Development to submit to the Wyoming Business Council for a grant to purchase a building.
We spoke to Lisa Johnson Executive Director for Goshen County Economic Development to find out the location and purpose of this building.

The City Council agreed. The grant will go to the Wyoming Business council and the State Land Investment Board both of those meetings are in June. We should have an answer regarding the purchase of this building by mid June.

The Torrington Volunteer Fire Department held their annual awards banquet this past Saturday. This marks the 90thAnniversary of the formation of the Torrington Fire Department. Here is Bill Law

Thursday is the Goshen County Work force Alliance brown bag meeting at noon. At EWC Community Training Center. Guest speaker will be Renee Sinclair, U.S. Chamber of Commerce executive director for the northwest region
The topic: Issues happening in Washington, D.C. from health care to energy policy, union rules and banking regulation to progress toward re-authorizing the workforce Investment Act and other measures impacting job growth, creation and economic recovery. Meetings are open to the public. Thursday at noon at EWC Community Training Center.
