You see them all over town and the county.  Political signs from various candidates vying for their selected office.  And as with every year, it seems that those signs…during the late night hours seem to just grow legs and walk to your next door neighbor’s yard and lay down. Or perhaps they make it a block and end up replacing and opposing candidates sign.  They must have a mind of their own.  While no person has been caught this year, Torrington Police Chief Billy Janes says that that act, still has it’s price to pay.

Perpetrators should also know that fine is the same for the county…as well as 6 months in the county jail according to Sheriff Don Murphy.

If any resident notices any suspicious activity, or their signs are missing…your urged to contact local law enforcement, either the Torrington Police 532-7001, or Sheriffs Department 532-4026

As the 2010 Primary Election fastly approaches, Clerk of Goshen County Ms. Connie Addie and her staff have already begun the process of absentee ballot voting.  Absentee Voting, which takes place 40 days before the election, is available to county residents who are unable to go to the polls, You may request a ballot in writing, in person, by telephone or another person may request it to be mailed to you. To cast your ballot, you may do so electronically with a voting machine at the court house, or if your ballot is delivered to you, that will be a fill in ballot that will later be scanned and analyzed. All absentee ballots must be back in the Clerk’s office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Yesterday was the final day to register to vote, however voters may register if they haven’t yet at their designated polling station, at the primary election.

Goshen County Has 20 Precincts and uses 11 polling places.  If you are for some reason unaware of what precinct or polling station you are to cast your ballot at…simply call the Clerks Office, at the Court House at 532-4051
