Torrington's mini park gets new equipment

New, State-of-the-art playground equipment is being installed at the small park on West C and 27th Street, next to Destry's Secret Garden. The equipment is a new concept thought up by an engineer that envisioned the combination of a zip-line and a roller-coaster. Rob Moorehouse and his crew have been out for the last few days assembling the structure, which is one of the first of its kind. Bob Pflasterer of Churchich Recreation out of Longmont, CO is overseeing the installation and said that this is just the 3rd gravity rail in the country to be ordered and installed.

The new equipment was funded by the Goshen County Recreation Board and is expected to be completed shortly. As soon as a safety surface is down, kids of all ages will be able to take a ride on the rail.
