Residents and businesses evacuated Wednesday when two inch gas line is ruptured.

Wednesday, March 28th - An evacuation for many downtown businesses and homes as well as Torrington High School took place when a two inch gas line was ruptured near 23rd and West A at approximately 10:00 a.m. At approximately 11:15 a.m. high school students were heading back to school after it was deemed safe to do so by Black Hills Energy.

We will keep you updated as we receive further notification," said Goshen County Emergency Management Coordinator Shelly Kirchhefer.

UPDATE: As of approximately 2:00 p.m. Black Hills Energy shut down the gas line and the evacuation was lifted.
