ZACH WAXLER TO NJCAA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT
Lancer golfer, Zach Waxler, finished the 2011-12 season as the Region IX men's golf champion. His 73.8 stroke average placed him ninth in the District and earned him a trip to Newton, Kansas for the NJCAA National Tournament. District 1 is comprised of six states; Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. The Tournament will be at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course located about 30 miles north of Wichita, KS at Newton. Play begins on May 14 and will continue though that week. Zach transferred to EWC from the University of Wyoming at the end of his first semester in Laramie. Coach Casey Jones credits the small class size and the personal care of the faculty and staff at EWC for helping Zach find success. Because of his participation in the National Tournament, he will have a great opportunity to play golf at a Division 1 school next year. Congratulations to Zach Waxler, Coach Casey Jones, and EWC for this tremendous honor.Category: Golf
