Tammy Powell – Powell Title & Escrow

Hi, this is Tammy Powell with Powell Title and Escrow. I think your Radio Station ROCKS!! You’ve changed your programming and what you’ve played to meet the needs of this community and I wouldn’t advertise with any other Radio Station. We know advertising with KGOS/KERMis effective because we’ve had direct results from listeners in this area. Radio has given Powell Title & Escrow results.

Gary Olson – Olson Tire Company

Hi, this is Gary Olson with Olson Tire Company in Torrington, Wyoming. I would like to urge everybody  to consider the use of Kath Broadcasting and KGOS/KERM on any of their advertising messages they need to get out to the local public.  Olson Tire has had great success in marketing our product, our tires and our automotive services and in general just getting the message out that we’re on South Main and we are open for business and we are looking to help the public in any way that we can.

I just really like the fact that all of the local information we are getting, all of the voices that we are hearing now are familiar, I am just really enjoying the way everything is going. I am excited to hear about the sports that are coming up and enjoying all the coverage that’s local and the news at 7:20 and it has local information, I really enjoy that.  I listen to “Today in the Valley” and I listen from the time I wake up at 6:00 and listen all morning, I like everything now!

Isabel Hoy – Goshen County Library

We had many, many people who donated items to us and then we had great buyers showing up and we also had really good coverage by the KGOS radio station, we do think that made a difference. In the past the station has been very gracious and given some PA’s but this time we decided to go ahead and step up to the plate and get some advertising and I know that our Book Sale Chairman commented she thought it really made a huge difference, it was Terrific!!!

  • Dear Listener

    28 March 2012

KGOS has been on the air since 1949.  In 1953, at just 18, my father Kerm Kath purchased his beloved KGOS Radio.  In 1977, added an FM Signal to Goshen County.  It seemed only fitting that it bear his name–KERM.

I’m Kerm’s youngest son.  I grew up in radio.  After my father’s passing in 1982, the family sold the stations in 1995.  I stayed involved with KGOS/KERM and am happy to say that I was able to purchase the AM & FM stations in January 2009–and return them to the Kath family.

Since the purchase, we have made many additions–bringing back local news, Today in the Valley, adding this website and much more.  But I am most proud of returning the station’s local touch.

We are connected to the community and having fun again.

We love what we do and hope you do too.

Grant Kath and his wife Stephanie purchased KGOS/KERM in 2009.  Even with his enormously busy schedule as owner/operator of Kath Broadcasting, Grant also heads up the sales department and loves to be a part of the sports side of the station’s broadcasts, taking part in bringing games to our listeners with the area’s football, basketball and baseball teams. Grant’s father Kerm owned the stations years ago and Grant has been in the business since he was 14 – finally bringing it back into the family once again with the purchase in 2009.  Grant and Stephanie have two children, daughter Taylor and son Ryan.  Contact Grant at his e-mail address at This email address is being protected from spambots.      Greg Kath is our morning show host and brother to Grant.  Not tobe outdone by the years Grant has put into the business, Greg hasbeen a part of KGOS/KERM since he was 13 – starting out withworking for his father Kerm and now his brother.  That makes it 37 years and counting in the business!  Not too many people can claim that many years in radio, except perhaps his good friend Evan Slack. Greg can be heard live starting at 6:00 in the morning until 10:00, plus whenever needed, he engineers many of the sporting events carried on AM 1490 KGOS or KERM-FM 98.3.

Like many people in the office, KGOS/KERM is a part of Lynn Schukei’s past and present.  After a 20 year hiatus from radio, Lynn has come back to the business.  She says she missed it and loved working at KGOS/KERM back in the day and is enjoying every minute being back with the Kath family once again.  Lynn hosts Today in Valley (as she did back when) at 10:00AM Monday through Friday and wears her other hat as Office Manager when not writing and producing commercials or helping out wherever needed.  Advertisers can be rest assured their ads will be heard as she handles all scheduling of commercials, plus sends out the billing–making sure we stay on the air to entertain our listeners!!!  Lynn is married to retired COL Gordon Schukei. They have five children, Jon, Jason, Angela, Lucas and Kailyn and are known as Oma and Opa to eight grandchildren whom they adore.  E-mail Lynn at This email address is being protected from spambots.
