On Thursday, August 11th, and Friday, August 12th, Torrington Police Department will host a regional law enforcement training event at Torrington High School focused on law enforcement response to an active threat in a school setting. There will be a significant law enforcement presence at Torrington High School on both training dates. The law enforcement officers at the school will be engaged in multiple reality-based scenarios intended to simulate an active threat in a school. Through coordination with our partners at Goshen County School District No. 1, Torrington High School will be closed to the public during the training exercises.Torrington Police Department will maintain our regular staffing of officers available for emergency and non-emergency calls for service in our community during this training event.
