Goshen County Students Win UW’s Entrepreneurship Competition

Laramie, Wyo. (University of Wyoming) April 27th, 2023 — Two Goshen County students took home the $39,000 grand prize at the 23rd Annual John P. Ellbogen $50k Entrepreneurship Competition in Laramie last week.

The grand prize winner, BAST Manufacturing, won $39,000 and is composed of team members Carly Keller, a sophomore from Torrington majoring in veterinary technology at Eastern Wyoming College; Clayton Auzqi, a recent UW graduate from Clearmont who studied economics and agricultural business; and Jared Clapper, a senior from Veteran studying finance at UW.

BAST Manufacturing creates air filters made from hemp for HVAC units, tractors, etc.

The trio just recently won the IMPACT 307 Goshen County startup challenge last November.
