Fire Ban Lifted

image description

Torrington, Wyo. (RELEASE) November 8, 2019 -- Bill Law, the Goshen County Fire Warden, announces that during the meeting of the Goshen County Board of Commissioners, it was approved to lift the Fire Ban on all State and Private land in Goshen County effective November 5th.

While the Board of Commissioners and the Fire Warden approved lifting the Fire Ban, their action doesn't mean the fire danger is gone. Conditions still tend to be dry! All residents, landowners and outdoorsmen need to apply common sense and practice fire safety with camp fires and other outdoor burning. Also avoid driving and parking in tall grass and weeds.

If you have questions about controlled burning you may call the Fire Warden's Office, or contact your local Fire Department. You should also keep in mind that the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality has Rules and Regulations pertaining to Smoke Management anytime you burn. If you have questions related to Air Quality issues, you can contact the Cheyenne office by calling (307) 777-7346.

As always, if you plan any burning, please call the Torrington Dispatch center at 532-7001. Give them your location, when you plan to start the fire, and call them when you have it extinguished.
